Wood blinds are a great transitional feature between interior and exterior spaces, and are used to great effect in many modern homes and businesses. Wooden blinds are normally known as Venetian blinds, although there are also some unique styles of wooden blinds that may not fit the Venetian mould. Blinds are used in many modern homes as a bold and stylish design feature, and wood blinds are the boldest and most striking of them all. Because they are made from wood and are normally larger than other styles of blinds, wooden blinds are often more able to complement architectural features. Their natural wooden appearance also makes them ideal for use in transitional areas of a house, such as on sliding doorways which lead out to outdoor entertainment areas.

Interior designers often struggle with the links between interior and exterior spaces, and wood blinds are the ideal product in many ways to create a feeling of continuity within a domestic space. Because wood is a natural material, it is the perfect way to create this kind of transition in a way that is stylish and consistent. Wooden blinds are available in a number of finishes, so it is easy for people to find blinds that match the style and design of their homes. Solid oak timbre is available in high quality blinds, and other less expensive alternatives also exist. Some people match the type of wood in their blinds to that in their outdoor furniture, that way creating a seamless continuity between inside and outside space.

Along with the different types of wood used, Venetian blinds are also available in a wide range of different widths and configurations. While many companies can customise wood blinds to fit perfectly with your environment, there are three standard widths available over much of the world – 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm. Standard wood blinds are horizontal in their configuration, although it is possible to purchase vertical wood blinds too. While vertical wood blinds normally feature wider wooden slats, other than that they operate in much the same way as horizontal variations. Most wooden blinds can be gathered all the way to the top in order to let light shine through or have their angles changed to allow some light through.
